Book Reviews 1

Here are a few books, written for different age groups, that are all about characters that are in books - and the fact that they are aware of it.

We are in a book! by Mo Willems

We are in a book is a delightful tale of Gerald and Piggie, and is very fun to read aloud. It is about how the two characters in the story discover that they are in a book, and what they do about it, and what will happen when the book ends. Targeted towards smaller kids, but may make older kids smile.

The Great Good Thing by Rodrick Townley

This book is about a twelve-year-old princess named Sylvie, who is a character in a book. She is from a book titled The Great Good Thing, which isn't read very often, and when a new reader arrives, she breaks the rules and looks up. What will happen next? Written for middle and older kids.

Between the Lines, by Jodi Picoult and Samantha Van Leer

This book is about a fifteen-year old girl named Delilah, who has become obsessed about a kids book, named Between the Lines, particularly about the main character. That book is about a prince named Oliver, who has an adventure. Secretly, Oliver -- and the other characters -- actually live, and Oliver wants to get out. Can Delilah help him? And what will it take to get Oliver free? This is a romantic older kids book.
