FAQ about Homeschooling

I assume that the other members of our co-op (hi!!!) have also been asked some of these questions. Here are some answers that I can provide to some Frequently Asked Questions about homeschooling.

So, you're homeschooled. Does that mean that you are smarter than public school kids, or not?
Most homeschoolers are just normal kids. Some of us have been homeschooled since the age of four, and some of us have only recently started. I have been homeschooled for before I can remember, and I started reading when I was three.

Do you get random vacations? I mean, homeschooling is a joke, right?
Heh heh.....WRONG! I don't ever stop working. Even during summer vacation, I still have to study foreign languages, math, and piano, and that is considerably less than what happens during the school year. Homeschooling is no joke, although it is slightly more flexible than the dreaded Public School!

Do you get to sleep in and wear PJ's all day?
Ha. Today is an example: my sister opened the curtains at a little after nine. No PJs. However, I do get to sleep in longer than other kids my age do. I get up at 6 sometimes, though.....

Here are 2 videos that Jasper found a while back. (Look in the blog archives for examples of her articles). These videos talk about a few FAQ that are almost completely wrong . Video 1 and Video 2
As well, if you have different FAQ to submit, as always, e-mail mulberrytimes@gmail.com
