The Springfield Museums have an annual contest for making gingerbread houses, and the results are pretty cool: 
The theme this year is "Adventures in Gingerbread" (though the theme is always some variation of that; this year it's supposed to have a Frozen bent), and will be featuring who knows what made out of gingerbread. People can vote for their favorites. Exhibit runs from November 28 - December 31, exhibit free with admission.
Mummenschanz at the UMass Fine Arts Center Concert Hall
If anyone has seen any of the old Muppet shows, you've probably saw the Mummenschanz episode. They are a Swiss masked theater group founded in the early 70s. They do all sorts of mask and prop stuff and acrobatics. They're still popular after 40 years (!), and they are doing a performance at UMass on December 7. The show starts at 4:00; ticket prices are $15-40 for adults depending on where you sit, $10 for kids or students of one of the five colleges.
