Quote collection

There are many quotes from famous people, both past and present, that almost no one knows about. Some of them are profound; some of them funny. Here are a few that I like.

During one of his speeches to the people of Berlin, JFK said "Ich bien ein Berliner". He meant to say "I am a Berliner", but what he really said is "I am a Donut".

Carl Sagan, a well-known scientist, said many interesting things, including:
"But the fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright Brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown."

and

"We live in a society exquisitely dependent on science and technology, in which hardly anyone knows anything about science and technology.", both by Carl Sagan.

Another awesome quote is the following poem by Emily Dickinson

Much Madness is divinest Sense -
To a discerning Eye -
Much Sense - the starkest Madness -
’Tis the Majority
In this, as all, prevail -
Assent - and you are sane -
Demur - you’re straightway dangerous -
And handled with a Chain -
