Halloween

Halloween. It isn't as simple as you may think.

Halloween may have originated from an Irish holiday, Samhain, where people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward away ghosts.
To the ancient Romans, the important day was November 1, which was All Saints Day. The evening before was called All-hallows.
In late 1800's America, the citizens molded Halloween into a holiday about community more than about pranks. This is the Halloween we celebrate today.
