Roger: What is your favorite thing about mulberry?
Daniel: it is the range of skills the teachers share with the kids including drawing, sewing and writing.
Roger: Do you plan on homeschooling your kids when you go to Texas?
Daniel: Yes, I do plan on it.
Roger: Why do you home school?
Daniel: Well, I think that that kids learn best when their education is related to real life activities.
Roger: Why do you feel that way?
Daniel: Because you do things that actually matter in real life, and when you do things that matter, you will actually remember them because you know that they might be important. And it's not just that you remember them. It's also because if you learn important things they will matter in real life. For example when you walk around identifying trees you'll forget what signs make you know that this tree is this and that that tree that, but when you learn how to tap a tree, and at the same time learn what kind of trees you tap, then you're actually learning something important.
