Disaster Stories- what I remember from the Halloween Snowstorm

I remember, in the Halloween snowstorm, our power was out for a week. We became so cold, because we had really high snow, no power, and no hot water for a week!
My best memory of the event is my mother, reading to us while we had a fire in the fireplace, while we snuggled on the couch and Dad read on his kindle. We were tired earlier because there were no lights. Other days, we went over to the Haugjaahabinks (sp), because they still had things like hot water. My dad finally gave up and got a generator from his work so he could take a shower.
One of my other memories is how much we used our emergency kits. We couldn't open the fridge a lot, because the cold air would get out, so we just made do with our emergency supply.
