Interview with Devorah

Devorah is a twelve year old girl who has been part of the co-op since the age of seven.

Roger: What is your favorite class?

Devorah: History and public speaking.

Roger: What are you doing in public speaking?

Devorah: Well, right now we are working on our Accurate Reading.

Roger: What are you doing in history?

Devorah: We are learning about the American banking system.

Roger: When you go to Texas do you plan to home school?

Devorah: Yes.

Roger: What are your hobbies outside of Mulberry?

Devorah: Reading, playing tennis and playing clarinet.

Roger: Are you happy to be a part of Mulberry co-op?

Devorah: Yes.

Roger: What is your philosophy of homeschooling?

Devorah: Well, I think it's good to not have kids sitting at a desk in a classroom all day. and it is good for them to learn by experience and actually doing things than reading from textbooks and filling out work sheets. I personally like homeschooling because it does not have a laid out curriculum and I get the chance to choose what I would like to learn.

Roger: Did you find this true when you went to school?

Devorah: Yes, all my time was spent in a classroom and you had no say in the lessons.
