Description
These creatures were discovered in 1938. Though it looks as an ant, it is actually a wingless wasp. However the males have wings while the female do not. They are known as 'cow killers' due to their painful sting, which is believed to be strong enough to kill a full grown cow. It is considered to be nearly extinct, however, it lays 2000 eggs a year. Unfortunately, predators eat a good number of the eggs. Although cute for a wasp, its stings are dangerous and venomous.
