Weird Animals: Potoo Bird

Habitat: It can be found in any tropical forest or anywhere with big, tall trees. Mostly in Costa Rica, Mexico, and Bolivia.

Description

Potoo are a solitary species, their only social interaction is their parents. They are nocturnal, mostly feeding at night on bats, falcons, monkey, and insects since they are carnivores. During the day they are extremely still and usually find a high perch to sit on. They avoid moving mostly to blend into the trees. They groom by the foot over the wing. Nesting season for the Potoos is in June, August, and November. Not much is known about them since they are rarely seen.
