Back in time.

On the 14th of December, in 1799, George Washington died at age 67, and in 1939, the U.S.S.R was dropped from the league of nations.

On the 15th of December, in 1939, the movie Gone with the wind  premiered in Atlanta, Georgia, and in 1966, Walt Disney died.

On the 16th, in 1773, the Boston tea party took place, and in 1916, Rasputin was murdered by Russian noblemen.

On the 17th, in 1777, France recognized American independence, and in 1903, the wright brothers flew for the first time.

On the 18th, in 1865, slavery was ended when the 13th amendment was added to the Constitution, and in 1969, the british parliment ended the death penalty.

On the 19th, in 1843, Charles Dickens published A Christmas Carol, and in 1972, the last apollo space shuttle splashed down in the ocean.

On the 20th, in 1860, the first state seceded from the USA, and in 1996, Carl Sagan, who created a TV show and wrote many books, died.
