The Liger

The Liger is a hybrid between a male lion and a female tiger. Closely related to  to the Tigon, which is a male tiger and a female lion, they are some of the largest cats in the world.

Size: These cats can get bigger than a fully grown Siberian Tiger. And since a Siberian Tiger can get pretty large, these are big cats. Here is a picture of a Liger next to a double-decker bus.--->

Description: Ligers have a tiger-like striped pattern that is very faint upon a lion-y colored background. They might have rosettes from the lion parent (lion cubs are rosetted and some adults keep their faint markings during their entire life). These markings may be black, dark brown or sandy. The background color may be correspondingly tawny, sandy or golden.

Habitat: Ligers only live in zoos.

Longevity: Most Ligers don't get much older than the age of 20.

What they eat: Unknown

Endangered: Ummm... it's not really possible for these cats to be endangered, because they are hybrids, and as long as lions and tigers are alive, then a Liger can be alive too.

Dangerous: Unknown
