   Name: The Hummingbird Hawk Moth 

   Scientific name: Macroglossum stellatarum 

   Wingspan and size: The wingspan ranges from 50 - 58 mm, And the moth itself is about the same size as a hummingbird. 

   Habitat: Pretty much wherever there are flowers!

   Description: The hummingbird hawk moth is generally brown and white, though some have black instead of brown. The moth makes a humming noise when it flies. It hovers over flowers like a hummingbird. The moth is often found in flower gardens, forests, and coastal areas. It is a day-flying moth, though the moth will fly at dawn, dusk, and even in the rain. This is very strange for a moth.
