How does this winter compare to others?

Snow! Snow! Snow! Cold! Cold! Cold! Now here's the question: how does this winter compare to other winters of the past?  That's what I've been wondering.  So here, below are a few questions answered about winters of the past.




1. The coldest day recorded in Massachusetts was -35 F on January 12, 1981 in Chester, MA
2. The coldest day recorded in Springfield, MA was -18 F in 1984.
3. The coldest day recorded in Boston was -30 F in 1946.
4. The coldest day recorded in Worcester, MA was -24 F in 1943.
5. Boston just recently for the most snow in 30 days with 60.8 inches
6. Boston passed the 1903-1904 record, of 72.9 inches, with 73 inches
7. Boston moved up to the top ten snowiest winters ever.





So although there have been colder winters, Boston has broken a lot of records for most snowfall.  Do any of you adults remember the blizzard of 1978?  Well Boston's snowfall has been compared to that blizzard.
