This exhibit is about two rebels that transformed the US. Daniel Shays held a militia strike against the Springfield Arsenal to try to force the government to stop financially oppressing Revolutionary War veterans, farmers, and other people. This DIRECTLY influenced the creation of the Constitution to give US citizens rights. The second rebel was John Brown, who led an assault on the Harpers Ferry Arsenal in Virginia to help end slavery. This influenced the start of the Civil War. The exhibit is sort of a compare/contrast exhibit between the points of view of the people who either supported the rebels actions or hated them, with images, objects, and quotes to back up the opinions. Exhibit shows from December 22, 2014--March 22. Museum is open Wednesday--Sunday from 9-5. Museum admission is free.
