Juno: The Wrath of a Goddess

I was excited about Juno. Who wouldn't be excited about a possible 3 FEET OF SNOW?!?! The day it arrived, I was even hoping that it could even be those 3 feet and not less. Then, it was disappointing, and only around 7 inches showed up.

In the Roman myths, the original Juno, however, was a goddess with a temper. The thing that she is known for is killing all of her husband's girlfriends, and Jupiter had a lot. She drove them mad, she captured them, she tricked them. . . it was a full-time job.

Juno did do a few good things, though. She was the protector of Rome, and her title, translated, was "Juno, the one who warns." Perhaps, if this new storm is a bigger one, Juno was a warning.

(Note: This post was originally written on the morning of February 2. Since then, the author has had reason to agree with herself. Juno was a warning. There was more snow to come, and do not trust the weather forecasters. Snow storm Linus dropped about 11 inches.)
